Exterior alteration application and In-home business application

What Steps Must The Resident Take?

When you contemplate making an exterior alteration, initiating an in-home business or changing your landscaping, you should first consult the Guidelines contained in this booklet. They will help to finalize your plans and will advise whether a formal application is necessary. If in doubt, call the Covenant Advisor at 410-381-0202 or email obcovenants@columbiavillages.org.

Residents whose property belongs to a townhouse or condominium association must check with the association to see if it has its own form of architectural guidelines and its own review process. Currently, Cradlerock Mews, Elkhorn Landing, Riderwood, Snowden Ridge, Southwick, Swan Point, The Residences, Waning Moon, and Woodlake must sign applications before they are presented to the RAC. Also, some projects may require Howard County building or variance permits. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to obtain all applicable approvals and adhere to all restrictions.
